A while back I was looking for a quick way to estimate weight (in kilograms,
of course).  I looked at the growth chart and realized that the average age
for 10, 20, and 30 kg was 1 yo, 5 yo and 10 yo.  I just eyeball it for ages
in between.  By my estimation, your formula seems to correlate pretty well.
