 - blisters on sun-exposed skin
 - hirsute, onycholysis
 - urine fluoresces with Wood's light (470nm UVA)
 - sensitive to different drugs than AIP; BCPs common trigger
 - check urine and stool porphyrins
 - send for GI evaluation, hepatoma common complication

þ Treatment of AIP (per Harrison's plus personal notes):
 - Demerol for pain
 - D10W at 200 cc/hr (20 g/hr) (Harrison's)
 - if fails, hematin IV
 - check for hyponatremia (common occurrence)
