Hyperemesis Gravidarum

þ Role of B6
 - Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) may be an etiologic factor for this condition.
   Therefore, pyridoxine supplementation may be recommended for these
   patients. Logan and Sayah:  "Pregnancy, Hyperemesis gravidarum" in Plantz
   and Adler's EMedicine, www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic479.htm
 - Per Dr. Hamm (OB-GYN, Venango Co., PA), the old Bendectine is actually:
   Unisom (doxylamine succinate 25 mg, an antihistamine)
   + Vitamin B6 50 mg.  Take this at night QHS.

þ The Magee formula
 - B6 (pyridoxine) 50 mg PO BID
 - Unisom 12.5 mg (1/2 tab) PO BID; not approved for pregnancy
   but in common use and thought to be OK (2007)
