þ Biphasic shocks work better than monophasic
 - Circulation. 1996;94:2507-2514 "We found that 130-J biphasic truncated
   transthorasic shocks defibrillate as well as the 200-J monophasic damped
   sine wave shocks that are traditionally used in standard transthorasic
   defibrillators and result in fewer ECG abnormalities after the shock"
 - Am J Cardiol 1995;75:1135-1139 studied patients undergoing EPS studies with
   induced arrhythmias, randomized to either monophasic 215 joule or biphasic
   171  joule waveforms.  The first shock was successful in 85.2% of cases
   using monophasic waveform, and 97.6% of patients receiving biphasic
   waveform (p=0.0054)
