Dermatitis Herpetiformis

þ Clinical Features
 - grouped vesicles and pruritis on pressure-points like elbows
 - in young adults
 - biopy: increased IgA at dermal/epidermal junction (unlike sprue) and
   subepidermal bullae formation
 - Rx: Dapsone, works in 24-48 hours

þ Similar to Acrodermatitis Enteropathica:
 - decreased zinc absorption from cow's milk, hyperal
 - decreased free fatty acids, can rub the affected areas with safflower oil
 - associated with perioral rash, hair loss, GI problems
